The typical maritime climate is mild all year round. It is warm and sunny from May to October. There are more than 2000 hours of sunshine per year which is a rarity in Northern France. The mild climate promotes the abundant flora (including mimosas, camellias, rhododendrons) and year-round participation in outdoor activities
such as sailing, golf, bicycling, walking, and hunting for shellfish.
Brittany has warm summers with average temperatures of around 70-80 degrees and winter temperatures rarely falling below freezing especially in the south of the region.
